Face Powders
Face powders are cosmetic "tools" for one's face. They are used to set foundation after being applied. Face powders could also be re-applied to cut down the shiny results of oil on the skin. Actually, there are a lot of sheet powders, and one is the pigmented kind. Some kinds of pigmented face powders are to be applied without any foundation at all. Using face powders gives an even look. But that is not the only advantage of using face powders, they also minimize skin damage from the elements.
Some basic facts about face powders
Face powders are marketed either as loose or compact. Face powders could be used with a brush or sponge. The uniform application on one's face is attained better via the loose powder kind. There are many kinds of powder used for them, and talc is one of the most common. There are brands of face powders that have natural minerals, and these are often advertised to cut down on the appearance of wrinkles.
The loose and the pressed kinds are the two kinds of face powders. The loose kind of face powders is more often than not packaged with a sifter. This kind of face powders is airy and light, and they are the preferred choice of makeup professionals. They also last longer than the pressed kind of face powders. The pressed on the other hand, is designed to come up with a cake form. Specific oils are usually added to them to make sure that the powder compacts longer.
Proper application of face powders
To get the natural finish with the face powders, use the translucent varieties. This reflects light to make one's skin give off a luminous attribute. Yes, heavily pigmented face powders are not yet obsolete, but they are seldom used anymore. Using these heavily pigmented face powders makes one look artificial.
Put on face powders only when the foundation/concealer has been finished. Using a tissue, wipe the brush on, then get off the excess powder from the face. Put the brush onto the powder container, shake off any excess. Put just a tiny amount on the puff, then put it on the shiny sections where a retouch is needed. Take off the surplus powder, clean the brush with tissue, and again, use that to remove surplus powder from the skin.
Colors of face powders
The most common colors of face powders are white, mauve, green, pink and blue. White face powders are suggested for evening wear. Mauve face powders give more definition to those with sallow skin.
Green face powders bring down high colors. Pink face powders give more life to pale complexions.
Blue face powders also bring down high colors.
